Flyer, Chicago Print Media and Trade Association Endorsements, Republican Brad Glass for Illinois State Treasurer, 1978

A black and white campaign flyer promotes mounting media and trade association favor for Republican candidate for Illinois State Treasurer Bradley M. “Brad” Glass. Major media concerns endorsing Glass include The Chicago Daily News, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun-Times, and Chicago Magazine. The endorsement of Orville V. Bergren, President of the trade businesses group The Illinois Manufacturers Association, is also given. Glass was unable to sway voters despite endorsements such as these, and lost at the ballot box. Contributor Mary Hudgins is a former legislative intern under Brad Glass. A graduate of Sangamon State University (now University of Illinois at Springfield) in Political Science, she is originally from Naperville. She believes that the election items in her personal collection are rare, and wants to insure their preservation through digitization in the 2016 UIS History Harvest project.
