Lincoln Mini Axe

Abraham Lincoln Axe used as a political button for Abraham Lincoln's presidential candidacy.

Little is known about this curious item. Measuring just a few inches in length and made of solid metal, these mini axes were apparently passed out at campaign events in support of presidential candidate Abraham Lincoln. Our example comes from the collection of Nelvin Sloman, whose great-grandfather was a personal friend of the 1860 Republican candidate.
