Flyer, Re-Elect Anne Willer for Democratic State Representative, 6th Congressional District, 1978

Black and white bifold flyer for Democratic incumbent Anne Willer of the 6th Congressional District for the November 2, 1978 election. The obverse sinister panel has mostly white on a black field text further reminding voters that she is their ‘full time legislator’ as one of few maintaining a district office in Illinois; a white diagonal banner with black text reminds voters of the November 2 election date. The dexter panel reverses the color scheme above and below a black and white photo of Willer working by telephone. The upper banner features endorsement by the Independent Voters of Illinois as recipient of its ‘Best Legislator’ award in February 1976. The reverse of the flyer’s dexter panel emphasizes newspaper endorsements from The West Proviso Herald, Suburban Life, and the Chicago Sun-Times, while the sinister panel focuses on her strengths in Community Service and Legislative Committees of the Illinois House. The entire upper reverse panel focuses on photos of Willer at work for or with constituents. Representative Willer of LaGrange won this election, and again thereafter, successfully representing the 6th Congressional District, 1974-1980, while focusing on human services, veterans’ services, children services, judiciary and legislation, pensions, and more. Contributor Mary Hudgins served as a legislative intern under Anne Willer. Contributor Mary Hudgins is a former legislative intern under Anne Willer and a graduate of Sangamon State University (now University of Illinois at Springfield) in Political Science. Originally from Naperville, she believes that the election items in her personal collection are rare, and wants to insure their preservation through digitization in the 2016 UIS History Harvest project.
